What Is A TPE?

Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) is a flexible, rubbery material that can be repeatedly stretched without permanently deforming the shape of the part. Unlike Thermoset rubber, TPE does not require curing or vulcanization, as they are true thermoplastics. A TPE can be used in injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, and 2-shot molding to create durable, long-lasting parts. A TPE can be very rigid or very soft or gel-like. Star Thermoplastics’ TPE grades have become widely used, in various products and applications.

Thermoplastic elastomers are materials made from formulations containing both soft elastomeric and hard thermoplastic materials. They are also known as thermoplastic rubber materials and are found in various areas of manufacturing. Some of the most common processing methods used for thermoplastic elastomers are injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming, over-molding, and extrusion.

Who We Are

Our partnership with you starts by working together to understand the requirements of the project and to identify or create suitable TPE solutions. The results are TPE materials that are easy to process, aesthetically-pleasing, and specially designed for the end use requirements. We bring our team’s TPE expertise throughout the entire process, from concept to production, in an efficient manner. For your requirements in polymer modifiers, TPE alloys, and high performance TPE that can outperform TPVs in some areas, you can count on Star Thermoplastics.

What We Do

We offer some of the broadest lines of TPE formulations in the industry. At Star Thermoplastics, we offer R&D driven TPE solutions. Our TPE can boost the appeal of an existing product, replace a competitive TPE in an existing product, and add to its longevity over its lifetime.
