Our mission at STAR is to provide TPE solutions that are designed and blended just for you, with free precoloring services, and a high level of personal service. We're conveniently located in the Bronzeville section of Chicago (just blocks from the popular McCormick Place and minutes from Midway Airport). STAR also has an additional West Coast facility. With two advanced manufacturing lines housed in a 25,000 square foot plant that annually produces 16 million pounds of materials, STAR offers high quality TPEs for specialty applications in small to large production runs. STAR has earned a reputation as an innovative and technology-driven company that provides solutions with high quality and competitively priced products. STAR has a dedicated research and development department which emphasizes finding materials and molding solutions that are "outside the box". Where other TPE compounders walk away or supply "off the shelf" materials which "almost work", STAR steps up and finds workable solutions. While STAR hasn't been as vocal as other compounders of specialized TPEs, we provide TPE solutions at the industry's most competitive rates and deliver on-spec and on time. The illustration on the home page - the headquarters of STAR Thermoplastics, located only a few block from Chicago's famous showplace, McCormick Place. The huge 4-story factory building in the re-emerging Bronzeville section of Chicago where STAR makes TPE compounds for customers worldwide once was home of a now defunct automobile manufacturer most likely during the 1920's or 30's. While we don't know all the details, we're looking into them and think "cars" every time we ride up and down the huge open elevator. |
